Strategy requirement:

A good handle on the game is the first requisite for a good game of heads up poker. There is no use with heads up poker if you cannot recognize a good hand. It is not only important to have a good hand but it is also mandatorily necessary for someone to know and understand on how to build up a good hand. Strategy:

Heads up poker strategy fits into almost all of the poker series which are offered.  For example the heads up poker strategy works for both the Texas Holdem to the five card stud. The actual pay off will be decided only based upon the position of play.

If u r 2nd and if your opponent decides to bet and if all your cards are out:

Call if your cards are worth staying in for even when they do not justify a raise or if u think that your opponent is bluffing or if your cards are better than his, give it a raise.

If your opponent checks:

If you think the heads up strategy has paid off just bet, else you can just give it a bluff if you think it would rather pay off.

In poker the first person always has an ardent advantage over others.

So if you think you have a strong hand:

If you think your opponent may bet and raise its better to call and rise. If you are feeling comfortable with your hand just bet and try going up.

If at all you feel your hand is not so good it is safer to bluff, check or fold.

You can bluff if you are confident enough. This might lead you to a win if done correctly. Check can be done if your hand is not good. This will make your opponent to stay in the game and after subsequent rounds you might eventually win. Folding is a very good strategy to mix up if your hands are terribly bad it might also just eventually work out and help you in winning.

There are various strategies which might help you to win. Learning these strategies is the key to winning or losing in a game.
